In Honor of: Ken and Pat Wing

Our family could have asked for greater role models than our parents Ken and Pat Wing. They taught us what it is to be a tight knit family, to give of ourselves and to do good in the community.

Our parents were born and raised in La Crosse, WI and were involved in the community as long as we can remember.  As our Dad was the one working outside the home he showed us how to help, care and give back.  He was always there to help someone or volunteer, we were just volentold!  Mom was the rock and foundation of the home with 6 children, 27 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren, there was never a dull moment. Our dad's love was teaching which he taught wood tech at WTC for 34 years.  Many students will remember how they were volentold to do something but learned the value of giving back, plus you couldn't be late or you would have to bring donuts!  They were broke college kids so they were on time! The Army Reserves and the Carpenters Union were two more of his loves and he seved both for over 30 years. IN their later years they were thrilled to be part of Oktoberfest and Dad  served as the 2001 Torchlight parade Marshall.  Many happy memories for both through Oktoberfest. They lived on the north side of LaCrosse in the house that Dad was born in and when we had to sell it for memory care costs it had been in his family for 98 years. Dad passed away from Alzheimer's September 4, 2019.

Mom was one of those people that loved everyone. She would get up and offer you her chair if you walked into a room and there was no way you would ever leave hungry from her kitchen. She truly was the mom to all the kids in the neighborhood and more! She took care of everyone like they were her own children. Mom passed from years of battling dementia April 4, 2022.

Our parents have touched many, many people's lives. We have done this walk and fundraising for years to help battle this horrible disease and we will continue because it may be us some day.  Let's all work for the white flower, the first person cured of Alzheimer's!

If our parents have affected you in any way, we ask that you donate, or walk with us!  Let's help find a cure!!

Love, The Wing Kids
