Alzheimer's is a disease that is deeply personal to me. Not only because of the many families I work with through the Alzheimer's Association but because my Grandma Lorraine was the first person in our family to be affected by the disease. Alzheimer's took her from us, lost memory by lost memory. Today I invite you to support the Walk to End Alzheimer's so that future generations will not lose those they love to this disease.
Grandma Lorraine was a tiny lady with a large heart and warm personality. She loved taking care of people and every family event involved her making sure that everyone had what they needed. She would never sit down during a meal but would stand at the counter watching everyone else enjoy their meal and time together and making sure they had everything they needed. .
Grandma Lorraine won her battle with Alzheimer's when she passed away on July 10, 2014 - on her 86th birthday. Each year, I dedicate my work on the Walk to End Alzheimer's to her. I do this to help us towards a world without Alzheimer's and also because I know that until that time comes, help and support for families is critical.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
