I am honoring my incredible mother, Kay. We lost her pure, bright light at the end of 2021 after a 10 year battle with PCA (Posterior Cortical Atrophy), a type of young onset Alzheimer's. She was my best friend and the kindest person I ever knew. It was my greatest honor and most difficult trial to be her caregiver for 6 years as this disease stole her from us, day by day. For her legacy, I continue to lead a team and volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. No one should have to watch their loved one suffer, and together, we can end this horrible disease.
Please make a donation in memory of Kay to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The local chapter staff were the greatest support for our family and the Alzheimer's Association does amazing things for those who suffer from Alzheimer's and for those who love them! I will be walking with my husband and two sons in Madison in October 2023 for this incredible cause. Please join my team and donate today!
