I am walking to support my grandfathers and their incredible caregivers. My papa passed away from dementia back in 2014. My aunt devoted herself completely to making sure he had the best life possible. My grandad is currently living with Alzheimer’s. I love talking and spending time with him. Still, it is extremely hard to watch his memory and independence fade. My mom is his primary caregiver. Alzheimer’s does not only affect the person living with it. It hurts everyone who loves that person, especially the caregivers. I have watched both these women give more than they have to take care of my grandfathers. This is my reason for joining the fight for a cure.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
