Friends,
Many of you are aware that my mom, Nancy Johnson, was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer's in July of 2013 after a 2 year process to reach a clear diagnosis. It's hard to fathom that more than a decade has passed, and the decline in Mom has been incredibly difficult for our entire family. It's now been almost 2.5 years since her move to a memory care facility, and the pain of all the moments that Mom can't be part of is a daily struggle for me.
In honor of my mom, we will be participating in the Pierce County Walk to End Alzheimer's, taking place Saturday September 23 at Dune Peninsula Park here in Tacoma.
