Bob was diagnoised with Alzheimer's in 2014. Since he found out about the Alzheimer's he has joined a research study for dementia with Lewy Bodies. He enjoys walks with our dog and picking litter up off the road near us. We have begun square dancing again and though he will never be able to dance, he does enjoy the lessons and workshops. I can see how this disease is robbing him of his quality of life and will end up taking his life. Please donate to help Bob and others with this terrible disease. Thank you, Laura
Sept. 7, 2018, Today was our 5th walk. In the past 5 years I have seen a drastic decline since Bob's research study came to an end. He no longer can process square dance cues well enough to dance. He is unstable on his feet and falls a lot. He did finish today's walk with no falls. He needs help with his belt, buttons some zippers and the seat belt. We don't hike and he can't pick up the litter along the road anymore because of the fear of falls. He still walks Callie but they are in our neighborhood. He gets confused and will insist we have to go to an appointment at 2 or 3 AM. He will be starting a new research study later this month. I pray we get the actual medication and that it helps.

Bob and I spent the winter down south in Arizona and Mexico. On the way home Bob was hospitalized with pneumonia and it really took a toll on him. He is getting stronger but will never be like he was before the pneumonia. We have several trips planned to keep him active for as long as possible. Thank you for any donation you can give.

Bob lost his battle with dementia December 19, 2019. It was his wish that memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
