My Mother's battle with Alzheimer's Disease ended on December 10, 2017. She fought a brave fight against this extremely cruel disease, that robs a person of their memory and their ability to perform life's daily activities (such as getting dressed, eating, remembering how to use the telephone). I lost Mom twice....once when she no longer recognized me and then again when she left this Earth. The Disease took her away from me... as well as her son, her sister & brother, her grandchildren & her great-grandchildren and her friends. We watched as the disease overcame her and did not allow her to remember or function properly. A big piece of my heart went with Mom. She was my best friend, my rock, my hero. She was there for me when I needed someone to laugh with, cry with or just "be" with. She always had time for me. I miss her terribly. I hate Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer's Disease is the only cause of death in the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured or slowed. In the U.S. someone develops Alzheimer's every 66 seconds. Alzheimer's doesn't care what gender you are or educational background you have, it can strike anyone! Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together we can make a difference and end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation, start a team or join my team to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. No amount is too small. Thank you for joining me in the fight against Alzheimer's!
