The Alzheimer's Association advances care, support, and research worldwide. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising worldwide research initiatives, the money you raise makes a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer's, including mine.
After working for the Alzheimer’s Association for the past 12.5 years, I left to care for my aging parents. Still a supporter of this cause, I walk to end Alzheimer's for many reasons; to honor my dad, who was diagnosed a year ago, to honor the memory of his sister (pictured), who died from complications of Alzheimer's in 2017; and to honor the memory of my uncles and their loved ones who lived with this disease for more than 10 years in silence. For that reason & more, I walk to change the stigma of Alzheimer's and dementia in the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Finally, I walk to honor my mom, myself, and my husband along with 11 million caregivers across the nation who are struggling to stay ahead of this disease. But we can't do that without you.
Ways you can help:
- Get educated about the prevalence of the disease. No one is exempt.
- Get involved. There are so many ways to join the fight as a volunteer or an advocate.
- Consider joining TrialMatch. Don't just hope for a cure. Help us find one.
- Register to join the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Raise awareness of the disease among your friends, family, and co-workers. Join my team or register your own.
- Make a tax-deductible donation in any amount. No amount is too small.
- Sign up to receive our e-newsletter. Stay up-to-date on the latest info, nationally and locally.
Memories are all we have of one another. Let's make this a good one. - Jenn
