I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the 2023 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's (TM) at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday, October 14, 2023! I'm continuing my commitment to raising awareness for Alzheimer's research, care, and support which has spanned over a decade.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease the Association offers care, education, support, and resources in communities nationwide.

This will be my fifteenth year walking to fight Alzheimer's and many of you have donated to this very worthy cause every year and together we have raised thousands of dollars! Our efforts have helped find two FDA-Approved drugs that are treatments, but hot a cure! I walk for many people that have touched my life in various ways. I walk for my team captain's Dad (Ray Acors) who we lost almost five years ago. I walk for Peggy Miller (pictured) my dear friends Anita and Sarah's mother that we lost on August 14, 2012, who had been suffering from dementia. Sadly, three years ago, I had to add one more person to the list, their brother, Willie. Last year, I had to add my second Momma, Jean!  I was brat #3 that grew up with her daughters!!  I walk for my friend Jen's Grandfather (Pop) that lost his battle with Alzheimer's. I walk for my paternal grandmother Margaret Bassler that we lost many years ago... before I really knew anything about this disease. Most importantly, I walk because I lost my beloved grandfather (Pop-Pop) on October 5, 2014 to dementia. I keep walking to make sure that my loved ones and yours can be properly monitored for dementia or Alzheimer's affecting them.
