passed, I lost her to a frontal lobe stroke the funny, sarcastic, outgoing mom was replaced by a quiet shell. Every so often her eyes would spark, and she was there, for a moment. Mom was my best friend, and with the entire family we were able to care for her until she passed.
Caregiving took a village. As a caregiver I was sandwiched between a five-year-old, a daughter getting married, a husband with health issues and to top it off I worked full-time. I thought I balanced it well and unit my son now 27 said, "mom you came home from work took care of grandma and I never saw you" I share this because Alzheimer's and other Dementia impacts the entire family.
The money donated goes to education, advocacy and research for the cure.
