Our Team, Ruth's Legacy, is here in honor of Ruth Helen (Lookabaugh) Rawlings, a woman who was not only a brilliant nurse, wife, mother, grandmother and Christian -- but someone who inspired and left a legacy of strong women and men who strive to be as charismatic, empathetic and kind as she was. 

We Walk to End Alzheimer's in her legacy as she and the family spent her final years battling Alzheimers, a disease that goes beyond memory loss -- it can expand to behavior changes, disorientation and eventually loss of fundamental behaviors like speaking, swallowing and walking. While Ruth experienced many of these impacts, we'll remember her doing one of her last activities she was able to: dance with her husband, Leonard   

Alzheimer's Disease has no cure (yet!), so we are walking to raise awareness and fund the continued effort to find better ways to treat the disease, delay its onset and prevent it from developing. 

We are Ruth's Legacy and we invite you to join the Walk to End Alzheimer's! If you are able to join us in New Braunfels, Texas we'd love to have you walk with us (maybe a little dancing as well!) on October 14th 2023
