This is my mother-in-law, Martha. She has lived with Alzheimer's Disease/dementia for at least 8 years. She lived on her own for a few years but is now in assisted living. The disease has taken her short term memory, but she still has her long term memory. My wife misses laughing and talking with her mom about every day things. Research shows a cure can be obtained in our lifetime so she and I are participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's to raise money that will find the cure so that other families do not have to experience this horrible disease.
