My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 73. Day by day he slipped away from us until he passed away about two years later in March of 2014. Those two years were unbelievably difficult for our family, most especially for my mother who cared for him in their home. We were not aware of the many resources and services offered by the Alzheimer's Association to patients, caregivers, and family members.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. I want to spread awareness of the Association and the support they offer so that other families do not have to deal with this disease on their own as we did. That is why I am participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®.
Please join me in the Walk to End Alzheimer's® or make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
