Thank you for supporting our team, the Patticake Team, for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This is my first year to participate as a team captain. I'm doing this to honor my mother, Patti Chaffin, who passed away November 20, 2019 after having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease 14 years earlier. If you have a loved one currently battling Alzheimer's or have lost a loved one to the disease, you know the deep sadness and torture this horrible disease causes for all involved. I'll never forget the day I realized she no longer knew who I was. During the time Alzheimers was slowly robbing Mom of her memories, connections to people, personality, ability to reason and make judgments about every day living, I didn't have the energy to get involved in finding a cure. Now that she's in Heaven (the only "cure"), I want to do what I can while I still can, to help bring about a cure. I need and so appreciate any monetary help you can give. We have the doctors and scientists who want to do the research, but we need more money to fund the research. Thank you for your donation and I hope you will join us for the walk.
