In February of 2017, I lost my sister Joanne to the horrible disease of Alzheimer's at the age of 59. Joanne was my best friend, my soul sister, my go to. We laughed, we cried, we sang, we danced. Alzheimer's took that away. She has left behind a loving husband, 3 beautiful Children and 2 granddaughters and a brand new grandson. It took a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter and a sister. It took her away from friends. It took her away from me. I miss her everyday, her laugh, her smile, her heart. When Joanne was in final stages, I promised her I would continue to look after her family, the family that meant more to her than anything. I also promised her I would continue the fight, the fight against Alzheimer's. She couldn't fight it, but I can. On Nov of 2023, in Nashville, I will walk. I will walk for her, I will walk for the thousands and thousands of people that are fighting the fight to end Alzheimer's. But I need your help. Please join US on this journey and walk with me or help by donating to my team, #Team Joanne. The person that will survive Alzheimer's is alive today, I wish it was Joanne.
