Hello!

My name is Sonia Hardaway and I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

My family has been greatly affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia. My grandmother (Nancy J. Vick) passed away in 2007, my great aunt (Georgia Vick) passed away in 2015, my aunt (Willie Mae Smith) and my mother (Dorothy M. Hardaway) both passed away in 2019 as well from Dementia. Currently my aunt Evelyn E. Sesley is battling Alzheimer's. It is very heartbreaking to watch those you love suffer from these mind-altering diseases. I believe that together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.  My family and I will continue to use our voice to bring awareness to Alzheimer's/Dementia.
