Who is my inspiration for helping lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor?  That's a loaded question, but here it goes.  I have lost 2 very important people to this disease, my mom last July, and my mother-in-law about 15 years ago. As a speech therapist, who specializes in geriatric care and dementia, I participate in the walk for my patients as well.  Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

My family, my Prairie Rehab Team, and all those affected by this disease would appreciate your help. We'd love to have you join our team, or create your own. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
