I am walking for my grandpa, Dr James E. O'Rourke. He graduated with degrees in physics from the University of Notre Dame and St. Louis University before graduating from St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada. He served as an accomplished aviator for the Navy and completed two tours in Vietnam, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and the Vietnamese Air Gallantry Medal. He was an upstanding man, a caring doctor, and above all else cherished the times when he could see his whole family together. We miss his curmudgeonly old smile, and we walk in his name so that no other family experiences the loss of a loved one from Alzheimer's.
