John Stalter was an amazing man who was known for his charitable nature. Not only was he truly that guy that would give you the shirt off his back, he spent nearly 20 years running a charity named Spark of Hope. His work was truly his passion as he helped fill the food banks with food donated from Giant Eagle and took furniture to the poor and needy that were donated to the charity. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with ALZ not long after he retired. We lost him on Nov. 26, 2022. This team is to help not only keep his memory alive, but to help find a cure for the horrible disease that not only took him from us long before his death, but also from himself. He no longer enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening or anything else he loved prior to. Instead he slept and enjoyed going out to restaurants and slept. I hope to see the day a cure is finally found, we have our 1st of so many survivors, and no other person and their family has to suffer watching their family member go through this. This disease truly affects everyone that loves the person suffering with it.
Any donations to this team are so appreciated as we fight to end this disease. All are welcome to join the team and walk for not only John, but your loved one as well, as so many of us have been affected by ALZ.
