My father was diagnosed with early on-set alzheimer's disease. Through the past several years we have watched his loving, hardworking, jovial personality slip away. Though he is the man we love, he is without a personality most days. Music is the only thing that really gets through to him now. He will stand up and dance to his favorite 60's songs. He can keep the beat and move his feet. Sometimes, if he is really having a good day, he will "shake it" and move his hips! His smile will break through and my heart melts for the pure happiness he must be feeling.
