I walk to honor my mom Lorie Groeger who passed away in 2009 after being diagnosed with this disease in 1998. Mom was an amazing courageous woman who fought many battles in her lifetime and won. Sadly, Alzheimer's beat her. 

Many of my team mates have similar stores as to why they participate in the Alzheimer's walk.
