I am the grateful daughter of Helen Phillips Graham who left this world on July 14, 2015 at the age of 86 as the result of Alzheimer's Disease. She adored her children and raised us in a home surrounded by the love of God and family, sit down family meals, and countless family traditions. She always had room in her home, in her heart, and at the table for others who were readily welcomed and quickly became part of her extended family. Those who knew our Mom were blessed by her kindness, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love. I am grateful that I had the ability to care for her in my home in the final chapter of her life.

I still actively grieve her passing and miss her every day. I am incredibly sad that she spent the last years of her life being slowly robbed of her reality and memories by this nasty, unrelenting illness.

I am supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s with my siblings on October 28, 2023 in honor of our beloved mother and the amazing spirit that lives on in each of us and in those who knew her. I also walk to raise money and awareness in the hope that research and science will find a cure for this despicable disease. We are Walking for Helen 15 days after what would have been her 95th birthday. We love you, Mom…
