2019 was a difficult year for me and my family but most difficult for my mother. She suffered with this horrible disease which stole her smile from us in June.
We didn't lose her in June...she had been gone for a while...not really knowing who we were the last several months of her life. I miss her. My boys miss her. My family misses her.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
