I'm running a fundraising campaign again this year in honor of my grandparents James & Betty Kirk who both suffered from Alzheimer's and Dementia in their last years. They were the best grandparents ever as my sister and I would spend the night over at their house several times a year and Sunday mornings would be full of pancakes, puppet shows, and card games until our parents would come over to pick us up. I didn't realize truly how special those moments were until my wife and I became parents ourselves and what a treasure it is for our children to get to spend time with their grandparents. One day, I hope that Alzheimer's will be a thing of the past as new treatments that slow its progression have recently started having success!
