My wife, Laura, started showing signs of dementia more than 20 years ago. Since then, our three kids have graduated from college and found their spouses. We now have six granddaughters ages one to eight. Laura has been in a wonderful Christian based nursing facility for more than six years. Turning only 75 in August, she had been very mobile until the past two years. Even though she understands very little now, I am thankful that she still knows me and we try to "yes and no" conversations daily. I usually visit her twice a day and help her with lunch and supper. Alzheimer's has been a very tough disease for our family to deal with but God has given us the grace, strength, and patience to do so. I am also thankful for the wonderful caregivers and the Christians who have been praying for us. God is good! Your donations to help find a cure for this terrible disease are appreciated.
This is the fifth year of having our team "The Forgotten Notes." I am so pleased with the number of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and former students who have donated to our team in the past. I would love to have anyone join our team and/or donate to help us find a cure for this disease.
