I am raising funds for Alzheimer'sin honor of my father, Earl Thomas Gray, that lived with this terrible disease. We went through every heartless stage of this horrid disease with my father. By far the worst part was when he never even knew who we were. The only thing we held on to was this is our father. Just because this horrid disease took his memory and his everyday lif, it never changed the fact that he was our dad. We never put dad in a care facility, we took care of him at home,no matter how rough it got, because he gave me 18 years of his life and I felt it was only right to put my life on hold to take care of him. I am more that glad I spent my father's last few years with him no matter how hard it was. My dad was my best friend and I loved him dearly.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
