My friend, Tim Flahive, was diagnosed with early onset in 2012 at the age of 55. He was a father figure to my daughter in her formative years and, as an attorney, was the inspiration for her to go to law school. As of February 3, 2017, he was moved from the assisted living area of Willow Brook to the memory care area.
2019.......Tim is now in a tilt / recliner type wheelchair and has not been able to feed himself for quite some time. He has lost weight. I am still really enjoying my weekly visits though and since I am an optimistic person, I am confident that we will find a way to prevent the disease as well as cure the people who already have the disease.
2020.....Tim passed away this past Wednesday, March 11. I feel lost knowing that I will no longer be visiting with him each Tuesday and taking him an Arby's milkshake. He was a part of my life and Jessa's life for over 20 years and now there is just emptiness. I do recognize that he is in a better place now and I am thankful for that. I was able to spend some time with him Wednesday morning and even when his time was drawing near, I was still praying for a miracle......not wanting to lose him.
2021 and moving forward......I will continue to be a proponent for raising funds to help find a cure for Alzheimer's in memory of Tim.
All donations are VERY MUCH appreciated. And a big thanks to those who have donated several years in a row. I couldn't do this without the support of family and so many wonderful friends.
