My father, Francis Vallon, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in September 2013. If you have visited my Walk to End Alzheimer's page in the past, you will have read about the wonderful memories I have with my father. He worked harder than anyone I know, and gave us such a wonderful life. So many amazing experiences which have given me memories for a lifetime. The irony is that when I was finally able to appreciate it and tell him Thank You, it was too late. His body, while physically there, no longer matched his mind. Alzheimer's stole who he was, and tragically, took his memories of us. I cannot allow myself to lose my memories of him. That’s why I participate in this walk each year. It’s why I raise funds. If we could save even one person from this terrible disease and the suffering it inflicted upon both them and their families, it’s worth it. I thank you for partnering with me to help preserve my own memories. Together, we can end Alz!
