Every year, I join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in memory of my grandma, Kathi Marie Walker Corwin. She was the strongest woman I have ever met who struggled with this terrible disease. She lost her fight in January of 2018. Alzheimer’s is awful. It is the worst thing I have ever seen someone go through and to see her frustration when she knew she didn’t know what was going on or who someone she loved was might have been worst part to see. I can’t imagine going through what she did and what so many others go through. I will keep walking and fundraising until there is a cure. I don’t want to ever see someone else go through what my grandma did.
