I have met so many individuals and families in the last decade of my work that have been heartbroken by this disease. I have watched first hand former teachers, lawyers, homemakers, engineers, and veterans not be able to remember their children or their spouses. I have watched the tears those children and spouses have shed and I have shed tears with them. I have watched this disease rob people of more than memories. I have watched them be robbed of the ability to feed , use the bathroom, and get dressed. I have witnessed the stress these caregivers go through while caring for their loved one with Alzheimer's disease. This is why I do the walk every year. I do it for every resident in every senior living community who has lost the ability to advocate for themselves. I do it for those with the disease who can no longer walk. I walk for THEM. Please help support my walk by donating and joining my team!
