Suzanne is a vibrant young mother and grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when she was 58 years old. Suzanne’s fashion sense and natural beauty were admired by many. She was an active runner and loves listening to classic rock from back in the day!. Suzanne has an incredible sense of humor, and loves spending time with her grandkids, friends, and family. Alzheimer’s has taken away so much of who Suzanne was. It took away Suzanne’s ability to communicate, feed herself and care for her daily activities of living. We admit, It is hard some days to accept that we will never experience the Suzanne we grew up with, or have the mother daughter relationship with the woman who raised us. We struggle with not being able to pick up the phone and “call mom” with great news, bad news , or even just to talk. We struggle with trying to understand what she is trying to communicate to us and find ourselves lamenting about the grim prognosis, options, and planning for what the future entails for Suzanne. We miss our mom, we wish this disease didn’t impact our family in the way that it has. We wish that we could wake up and it all be a bad dream. We know that won’t happen… What we do know, is that we must advocate, support, and push for a cure. We need your help to raise awareness, raise funds, and most importantly to be there along side us as we walk this journey. Together, forever for Suzanne.
