My vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.
Participating in the Alzheimer's Walk in Yaphank, NY, has become part of me. I walk not only in memory of my mom, who passed from Lewy Body Dementia but for my cousin, grandmother, and the millions of Americans affected by this devastating disease.
Seeing someone you care about experience Alzheimer's or another type of Dementia is painstakingly difficult. My mom was my rock, and then I became her rock. Watching a woman who was strong, independent, and fun disappear a little every day is exhausting and, more so....painful and emotional. This disease stole my mom and a piece of me I can never return.
Almost every day, we encounter someone struggling with the impact of caring for someone with memory loss. There is no cure or treatment. The financial impact can be devastating, along with the emotional impact on the caregivers.
I've devoted myself to raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association to help those without a voice and the caregivers who care for them daily. I created Team Mom's Daughters to help them focus on eliminating Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, providing enhanced care and support for all affected, and reducing the risk of Dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Please donate to help save the memories of those we love and support the Alzheimer's Association Advanced Research into treatment methods, prevention, and ultimately a CURE!
THANK YOU to those who have supported my fund-raising efforts in the past - THANK YOU!! I would be so grateful if you could consider supporting me again. For those supporting me for the 1st time - THANK YOU!!
