On Sunday October 15th, my family and I will walk together again!!
I walk first and foremost in memory of my grandma, Helen Forman, who lost her battle with Alzheimer's Disease on August 26th, 2012. No matter how much time passes, Grandma Helen will always be remembered as an exceptional woman, full of love, compassion and respect for everyone around her and a smile and giggle that could light up any room.
I also walk as an Occupational Therapist in the geriatric community. Alzheimer's and Dementia is something I deal with on a daily basis. So once again, I am also walking in honor of my patients and for the countless people suffering with Alzheimer's disease, their loved ones and professional caretakers that care for them at all times.
I walk because no family should have to lose their loved one to Alzheimer’s.
If you yourself have cared for someone with Alzheimer's disease or know someone who has faced the challenge and heartbreak of watching and caring for someone with this disease, please donate to this important cause. With enough funds toward research, hopefully we will be able to prevent and eradicate this very devastating disease in the near future. The end of Alzheimer's Disease starts here.
