May 10, 1939 - June 10, 2022  

We were "lucky" my mom only suffered with this disease for 5 years.  Many others are not so lucky.  If you know anything about this disease you'll understand that statement.  I will continue to do my part and raise as much money as I can to find a cure and improve the lives of care givers. 

  Some things to think about:

• Every 65 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer's
  
• More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's
• The number of people with dementia is set to jump 40% by 2030 according to the WHO
• Only 1.2 to 2% of Alzheimer's cases are hereditary
• 1 in 5 - the lifetime risk for a women to develop Alzheimer's after the age of 45
• Alzheimer’s kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
• 72% of Alzheimer's caregivers say their health has worsened since becoming a caregivers
• More than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

 Alzheimer's isn't waiting and neither am I. This year, I'm participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Will you support my efforts by making a donation on my fundraising page?
