I work in a senior living facility where I see the effects Alzheimer's has on some of the residents. I facilitate a support group for those who are Caregivers to their loved one who is suffering with this disease. I listened to a resident tell me once that she was terrified of getting Alzheimer's, only to see her nightmare come true as she began showing signs of having it. All of these instances have led me to shed many tears over the years and become passionate about joining the fight to end Alzheimer's. 

According to the Alzheimer's Association there are more than 5 million Americans who have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. I want to be a part of the efforts to find a cure for this disease and end the suffering of those who are affected by it. Join me in fighting this fight.
