I have been fortunate for the past 18 years to work every day with seniors in various long-term care community settings. Several of these seniors who have no choice but to struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Sometimes, I just sit and listen to them. Sometimes, we laugh together. Sometimes, we cry together. When their family is not in their lives or just can't get to them fast enough, I hold their hand, pray with them, and give them comfort while they take their last breath. God gave us all a purpose in this life, and this is one of mine.
