My grandfather, Larry Cooper, passed away just two days before my wedding due to his long battle with Alzheimer's disease. It was a bittersweet time for our family as we celebrated the love and beginning of a new chapter in my life, while also mourning the loss of such an important figure. Alzheimer's is a devastating condition that strips away memories and alters personalities, robbing individuals of their sense of self. Witnessing my grandpa's gradual decline was both heartbreaking and enlightening; it taught me about the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. In honor of him and all those affected by Alzheimer's, I have decided to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's event. This event raises awareness and funds for research efforts aiming to find a cure for this unforgiving disease that affects millions worldwide.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease!
