The Statistics: Alzheimer's Disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the US - more than breast and prostate cancer combined. More than 5.8M Americans are living with Alzheimer's now, and over 14M are expected by 2050. 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or other dementia. Last year, more than 16M caregivers provided and estimated 18.6B hours of unpaid care. This year - 2022 - Alzheimer's and other dementias will cost the United States about $321 billion (with Medicare/aid coving only 2/3), not including care-giving. This number is projected to rise to more than $1.1 trillion in 2050.
