This is my WHY. My Dad, RB Goforth passed away on January 27, 2022. He battled Alzheimer's for many years. This picture was taken a few years ago, one of the last opportunities I had to play golf with him. He accomplished a lot in his life. He was a pilot in the Navy. He was a successful business owner for over 50 years, helping others and solving problems. He taught Sunday School, a Kiwanis Member for 50+ years, taught a bonsai class at his local community college, and he was a great golfer. It was very disheartening to see him struggle with this illness, but I know and believe that God is good and works for the good of those that love Him.

You may have a similar situation with a loved one or someone that you know, because dementia impacts 50% of people over 80. I am passionate about raising awareness and funds to find a cure. I walk because I am dedicated to seeing a world without Alzheimer's. Everyday, we are getting closer to a cure. In fact, Lecanemab was approved just this year to slow the progression for people with mild cognitive impairment. Until there is a complete cure, we raise awareness to help families in need. We raise funds to pay for research and support groups. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
