I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My Aunt Joan was my mother's youngest sister and my personal hero. She was one of the most giving and self sacrificing women around. She raised 5 kids and worked a full time job in a school cafeteria. She gave of her time and talents to her church and all who she encountered. She had the gift of gab and all who knew her knew if they got her on the phone plan on an easy hour of listening to her tell of her day in sequence. Joan developed Dementia/ALZ in her 70's. She passed away a few years ago. What I would give to hear her tell of her day of walking 2 miles, going to McDonald's for breakfast followed by doing several loads of laundry all the while she was putting up green beans for the winter....
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
