Alzheimer’s has affected my family and we will feel the impact for the rest of our lives. In 2017 my dad lost his battle to this disease. My dad was a public servant who gave to his community duty, honor, dignity and respect. These are all qualities he held and practiced daily in his life. With Alzheimer’s you have the long goodbye, the longest imaginable. We laugh, we cry and we keep him close. As painful as it has been there has been a lesson that Alzheimer’s has taught us…To live more in the present.
