Dad and I in the Canadian Rockies
I am walking in honor of my mother and father. My father lost his battle to Alzheimer's disease several years ago. This disease impacted my family in so many ways. My mother was my father's primary caregiver before passing away unexpectedly. We moved my father in with us to keep him from having to go into a nursing home. I am forever grateful to my family for all of the care and support they provided to my father for the four years he lived with us. I am also grateful to the amazing love and compassion my father received from the caregivers who taught us patience and understanding and helped my father to live out the final years of his life with dignity.
