Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. My sisters and I have participated in the DC Walk to End Alzheimer's since 2014 when our mother, Laura, was first diagnosed with ALZ. A few years ago my older sister, along with my sister-in-law, were both diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. Both are doing all they can to lead healthy & productive lives, staying active & engaged, even with this devastating diagnoses.
Our DC, Laura's Girls & Friends Walk Team has raised over $165,000 since we started our mission with the Alzheimer's Association.
I am now a NC resident and while I and our Laura's Girls & Friends are firmly entrenched in DC where my family resides and the DC chapter of the Alzheimer's Association remain my hearts focus, I am also feeling compelled to support the efforts of SE NC! And, by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research no matter where one resides!
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
