I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
I lost my grandmother to the disease in 2011. She was cared for primarily by family at home, and we are happy we were able to do this for her. Since my personal experience, I have met many friends who have also been impacted by Alzheimer's.
