I am Walking this year in memory of one of my Best Friends, who lost her struggle with Dementia. Also I walk in memory of my Grandfather, who lost his battle with Alzheimer's.
Caring for someone close to you as their health declines, is difficult in itself. When the day approaches that your loved one looks into your eyes, and has difficulty recognizing you, that is a day your heart begins to break. Joy becomes sadness and smiles become tears.
FINDING a CURE is the reason we walk, so others don't have to struggle with this disease.
