I walk in memory of my grandmother, Marilyn. She was everything I hope and aspire to be - funny, kind, a great friend and an even better grandma. She loved her family with all her heart and my favorite memories from growing up include holidays at her house. I loved singing in the car with her (with the bass always turned up way too high) and playing putt putt golf. She got me addicted to red wine, coffee and nice cars. She gave me my love for the Chicago Cubs.
Watching your loved one slip into Alzheimer's and never come back is, without a doubt, the worst thing I have endured. Once she forgot who I was, my main goal was to just make her smile and laugh whenever I visited her. The last time I saw her before she passed, she was napping in front of the TV. I kissed her cheek and she smiled in her sleep. I think about this last interaction every day and every day I wish I had more time with her. Help me fight this disease from taking more loved ones away by donating. Any amount helps. Thank you!
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
