Back in 1987 when we first started worrying about our mom, Erlyce, having early onset of Alzheimer's, we really didn't know what we would be dealing with. She was in her early to mid-50's and our father had just passed away. The doctors thought her memory issues were due to the loss. But as time went on we saw that that was not the case. In the next 20 years we watched a beautiful classy lady deteriorate right before our eyes. 

We have heard Alzheimer's called the long goodbye. It sure makes sense. All the firsts that happened and how it affected each one of us kids started at the onset, and ended the day she went to heaven to join our Dad. We knew at that time, she was singing with the heavenly choir with her beautiful older sister Loyce.

Alzheimer's is hereditary! As I get closer to the age my mom was when she started showing signs of Alzheimer's, I realize how important it is to do this fundraising.
