10 years ago my family lost 2 wonderful men to Alzheimer's disease, my dad and my Uncle George. My mom was caregiver for my dad and my cousins were caregivers for my uncle. My mom has now joined my dad in heaven.
We welcomed 2 beautiful granddaughters into our family in 2020. One in March and the other in September. I now walk in memory of my dad and uncle and in honor of those who cared for them but also for the future of my children and grandchildren and those to come. I walk for the past the present and the future. I walk to END Alzheimer's! I started with the Walk in 2011 and I will not stop until there is an end to this terrible disease. Please support me in my efforts to make a difference.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with me and you.
