In 2009, my sister and I participated in the Alzheimer's walk for the first time. In 2010 we formed a team and named it Team Rolande. Rolande is our mom and we walk to honor her.  Since then, the team has consisted of her children, grandchildren and in-laws.  We raise funds by having yard sales, bake sales, bottle drives and most recently promise flower displays.  It's a lot of work , but our mom is our inspiration.  In 2017, our beautiful mom passed away. She is now free of this horrible disease.  We try to remind ourselves that no matter what Alzheimer's took  from her, it  never took us. It never took love because love remains in the heart, and the heart never forgets LOVE.   Happy Walking!
