I am excited that we will have a in-person walk in Hunt Valley, similar to 2021. I wish that all of my donors would be able to see, and/or walk in this event. It's a very emotional walk and you end up connecting with others that have watched a loved one lose his memory right in front of you. You want to help raise funds so that future generations do not have to worry about this. It is inspiring and creates hope - hope that we can raise funds to educate the public about brain health, and discover ways to slow down the disease, and possibly develop a vaccine!
Besides having a personal connection to this disease, I am now trying to educate corporations about how this disease can impact their employees' productivity. It has an obvious impact when the employee has been diagnosed, but equally important is the toll it takes on the caregivers, who many times have to quit their jobs to care for loved ones. There is now evidence that taking care of your brain can also slow the disease down.
The Association and all of the volunteers are dedicated to:
Transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will strive to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
DON’T JUST HOPE FOR A CURE……HELP US FIND ONE!
Please come walk with this team on Saturday,10/22 . You will be awed at how emotional and inspiring these walks are. If you can’t be there, I would greatly appreciate any donation you can make!
